Human Trafficking and What Do We Know About It
Join us to learn what one Canadian community has done to help young women in  Ukraine and what is happening right here in Windsor.

6pm – Perogy Feast
6:45 pm – Viewing and Presentation from Nashi’s Andrew Allsopp of the film One Perogy at a Time
8pm – Human Trafficking in Windsor by Gillian Gordon of Legal Aid Assistance Windsor

On Wednesday March 4, 2020 CFUW Windsor will host a presentation on Human Trafficking.  The presentation will include a showing of the film One Perogy at a Time (English with Ukrainian subtitles)

One Perogy at a Time celebrates the work of Saveila Curniski, president of Nashi.  NASHI believes that Human Trafficking destroys human dignity. By raising awareness and finding concrete solutions for the vulnerable, they believe that they can make a difference. Currently their focus is education and awareness locally, and the operation of a live-in center in Ukraine for young girls at risk of being trafficked. NASHI is TAKING ACTION. Founded in 2004 around a kitchen table it has become a group of dedicated volunteers, with no staff, but taking action against this tragedy. In Canada they speak about the brutal details and realities of trafficking. They hold conferences and seminars to make Canadians aware of this travesty.
